India achieved its best-ever Asian Para Games haul in Nagoya, winning a record 114 medals comprising 30 gold, 35 silver, and 49 bronze. A contingent of just 168 athletes competed across 11 sports, surpassing the nation's previous benchmark of 111 medals set at Hangzhou in 2023. Track and field led the effort with 65 medals, followed by para-badminton with 16.
A dominant Friday yielded nine gold medals, highlighted by world-record performances from Sandeep in the men's 400m T64 and Haney in the men's javelin F37/38. Paralympic champion Sumit Antil defended his javelin title to lead an Indian podium sweep alongside Mahendra Gurjar and Sandip Sanjay Sargar, while Pranav Soorma retained his club throw crown.
