A trade with the Kansas City Royals could give the Cincinnati Reds the ability to unlock more value from Sal Stewart as long as the team can clear some obstacles.

Blog Red Machine's Stephen Parello proposes that the Cincinnati Reds target Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino via trade. The hypothetical deal would allow 22-year-old rookie Sal Stewart to shift back to his natural position at third base, while addressing Cincinnati's league-worst strikeout rate and lack of left-handed offensive production.
Parello argues that acquiring Pasquantino would likely require a third team, as Kansas City prioritizes bullpen depth and outfield help over Cincinnati's primary prospect offerings. A trade would also allow the Royals to shift young slugger Jac Caglianone from the outfield to first base.
