Ferrari introduced an aerodynamic update package for the United States Grand Prix featuring modifications to the floor fences, diffuser, and sidepods. Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc downplayed the immediate impact of the new parts, with Hamilton estimating that the package is worth less than a tenth of a second in lap time. Despite the cautious expectations, Leclerc went fastest during the opening practice session at the Circuit of the Americas.
According to Jake Boxall-Legge, the updates focus on improving aerodynamic stability and airflow energy to the rear diffuser rather than sheer peak lap time. Boxall-Legge suggests that by smoothing downforce fluctuations during cornering and braking, the modifications provide a more consistent platform. The technical changes may also serve as a foundational test for upcoming 2027 regulations regarding floor finger limits.
