It was a slow start for Williams at the Circuit of The Americas as Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon struggled to keep their cars on track.

Carlos Sainz admitted Williams is not expecting miracles during the United States Grand Prix weekend following a very difficult Friday practice at Circuit of The Americas. Sainz placed 19th in FP1 and 20th in FP2, trailing session leader Charles Leclerc by over 2.7 seconds. His teammate Alex Albon faced even worse struggles, finishing at the bottom of the timesheets in both sessions.
Sainz expressed extreme frustration over team radio, describing the car as a mess and stating he lacked confidence. Williams Chief Trackside Engineer Paul Williams explained the team ran alternative programs to focus on future development and next year's car, while Sainz emphasized that Williams must understand why the current car is performing so poorly.
