ARSENAL are taking on Everton at the Emirates in a huge Premier League clash. Declan Rice and Co are wearing black armbands in tribute to Gunners legend Ken Friar. ARSENAL VS EVERTON LIVE COVERAGE Why are Arsenal wearing black armbands…

Arsenal players wore black armbands during their Premier League match against Everton in memory of club icon Ken Friar, who died at age 92 earlier this month. The tribute at Emirates Stadium also included a planned moment of applause prior to kickoff and a dedicated matchday programme, following similar tributes during Arsenal's 3-0 Champions League win over Lille.
Friar spent 70 years working for Arsenal, starting in the box office in 1950 before serving as club secretary, managing director, and eventually life president in 2020. He played a key role in orchestrating the Gunners' relocation from Highbury to Emirates Stadium in 2006 alongside Danny Fiszman.
