The San Francisco 49ers officially announced the release of defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo on Friday. Reporter Matt Barrows noted the roster move could create space to activate wide receiver Christian Kirk from injured reserve.
Okoronkwo, 31, initially joined San Francisco in August and has moved on and off the roster this season. Across six appearances for the 49ers in 2026, he recorded two tackles and one sack.
