The Story in 60 Seconds

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that wide receiver Mike Evans and defensive end Nick Bosa have been ruled out for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Both players will not travel to Atlanta, staying behind to rest and undergo physical therapy ahead of the team's upcoming bye week. Evans will miss his first game of the season due to an Achilles injury, while Bosa will be sidelined for his fifth consecutive contest with a calf strain.

The 49ers will also be missing wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is sidelined for a second straight week with a hamstring issue. With Evans, Samuel, De'Zhaun Stribling, Demarcus Robinson, and Ricky Pearsall unavailable, Jordan Watkins is set to lead the receiving corps. To address receiver depth, San Francisco expects to activate Christian Kirk from injured reserve, clearing a spot on the active roster by releasing defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo.
