Darwin Nunez remains in regular contact with a Liverpool player…

Former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez congratulated Uruguay teammate Ronald Araujo on scoring against Villarreal, jokingly asking if Araujo planned to score more goals than him for the club. Araujo revealed the message following Liverpool's 4-3 comeback victory in the Champions League, praising their close friendship.
Nunez left Liverpool for Al-Hilal in 2025 for £56.6 million before joining Al-Diriyah on loan, having scored 40 goals in 143 appearances at Anfield. Meanwhile, Araujo joined Liverpool on loan from Barcelona and noted that it is too early to decide on a permanent transfer.
