Jolyon Palmer thinks McLaren driver Lando Norris let his “mistakes” during FP2 at the 2026 F1 United States Grand Prix get the better of him…

F1TV analyst Jolyon Palmer observed Lando Norris displaying frustration following mistakes during the second practice session at the 2026 United States Grand Prix. Norris dropped to seventh on the timesheets after finishing third in FP1, ending FP2 over a second behind session leader Charles Leclerc. Palmer noted a harsh braking lockup and sudden snap at Turn 15 that disrupted Norris's flying lap at the Circuit of the Americas.
McLaren endured a difficult Friday in Austin, with Oscar Piastri finishing eighth, just behind Norris. After the session, Norris acknowledged the challenge of putting together clean laps on demand, citing tricky car handling, but expressed confidence that minor setup tweaks could unlock the car's underlying pace ahead of qualifying.
