While Darius Acuff Jr. showed great improvement against the Blazers, the Sacramento Kings still need more from him.

Sacramento Kings rookie point guard Darius Acuff Jr. rebounded from a poor debut to score 33 points against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Kings still lost the game, but Acuff led the team in scoring while adding two rebounds and four assists, recovering somewhat from an inefficient opening-night performance against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Writer Ian Goodwillie argues that while Acuff's scoring was impressive, the rookie still needs to improve his shooting efficiency and defensive effort. Goodwillie notes that Acuff shot just 10-for-26 from the field and 2-for-11 from three-point range, stressing that he must evolve his playmaking given Sacramento's lack of point guard depth.
