Tim Southee holds the record for the best bowling figures for New Zealand in T20Is after claiming 5 for 18 against Pakistan in Auckland on December 26, 2010. Lockie Ferguson ranks second with 5 for 21 against the West Indies in 2020, followed by James Neesham's 5 for 22 against Pakistan in 2025.
Southee is the only New Zealand bowler with two five-wicket hauls in T20Is, also posting the best figures by a Kiwi captain with 5 for 25 against the UAE. Meanwhile, Mark Gillespie holds New Zealand's top T20 World Cup bowling figures with 4 for 7 against Kenya in 2007.
