The Story in 60 Seconds

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was taken to the hospital by ambulance on Friday after collapsing during a second-team training session. Kompany had earlier overseen the first team's practice ahead of Sunday's Bundesliga fixture against Freiburg. The 40-year-old Belgian is reported to be in stable condition following the medical emergency, while Bayern's reserve match scheduled for Saturday was postponed.

Kompany had been battling a severe viral infection that exacerbated scar tissue pain in his hip and legs.
