UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van is scheduled to defend his title against Manel Kape at UFC 336 on January 30 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The championship bout was officially announced during the UFC 333 broadcast on Saturday. Additionally, an interim welterweight title matchup between Carlos Prates and Michael Morales is set to serve as the co-main event.
Van secured his championship reign following bouts against Alexandre Pantoja and Tatsuro Taira. Challenger Manel Kape earned his title opportunity on the strength of a five-fight winning streak, each ending in a finish, most recently defeating Kyoji Horiguchi by third-round knockout.
