Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez apologises to supporters for expressing a desire to leave over the summer, but his statement still gives Arsenal hope of a transfer in 2027.
Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has apologized to supporters for publicly admitting over the summer that he wanted to join Barcelona. Following a 1-0 win against Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, in which he scored the winning goal, Alvarez called his prior comments a mistake and pledged to rebuild his relationship with fans through hard work.
Despite the apology, Alvarez did not rule out an eventual departure, having recently appointed agent Pablo Barquero. Arsenal and Barcelona reportedly remain interested in a permanent deal, though Atletico Madrid is expected to demand at least £100m for the forward under contract until 2030.
