The Cubs should probably stay away from Teruaki Sato.

Pat Ragazzo of Cubbies Crib argues that the Chicago Cubs should avoid pursuing Japanese slugger Teruaki Sato this offseason despite his impressive NPB production. Sato won the Triple Crown with the Hanshin Tigers, hitting 39 home runs with a .991 OPS, but Ragazzo asserts he lacks a natural defensive fit on Chicago's roster.
With Alex Bregman at third base and Michael Busch at first base, Ragazzo notes Sato would likely only fit in right field if free agent Seiya Suzuki departs. However, the writer contends that re-signing Suzuki should be a higher priority than gambling on Sato's transition to Major League Baseball.
