Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton indicated a potential shift in the team's running back rotation following a 30-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals on October 25, 2026. Rookie Jonah Coleman returned from a four-game absence to rush for 54 yards on nine attempts and catch two passes for 15 yards. After the game, Payton stated to reporters that the team definitely has to get Coleman more touches going forward.
Jerry Markarian of Heavy writes that Coleman's emergence likely takes the Broncos out of any running back trade sweepstakes, such as recent outside calls to pursue Indianapolis Colts back Jonathan Taylor. Denver's backfield currently features J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, but Coleman's efficiency could see him take over lead duties ahead of their upcoming Week 8 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
