“He has scars. He's been wounded. He's been broken. He's been battered. But you heal stronger, and (he's) become better because of it."

Quarterback J.J. McCarthy guided the New York Giants to a 27-21 overtime victory against the Houston Texans on Sunday in his first start for the team. Acquired recently via trade from the Minnesota Vikings, McCarthy completed 20 of 28 passes for 252 yards without an interception. The win lifted the NFC East-leading Giants to a 4-2-1 record ahead of their bye week.
New York's rushing attack produced 188 yards and four touchdowns, punctuated by Devin Singletary's 30-yard game-winning touchdown run in overtime. Wide receiver Malik Nabers led all receivers with seven catches for 111 yards, while running back Cam Skattebo contributed a career-high 124 rushing yards. Coach John Harbaugh praised the resilience of the roster, which prevailed despite several key defensive injuries.
