Martin Brundle gets the sense that Oscar Piastri is ‘beginning’ to turn his form around at McLaren after a ‘very difficult season’. Piastri came close…
Sky Sports F1 commentator Martin Brundle stated that Oscar Piastri is finally beginning to turn his season around at McLaren following a difficult 2026 campaign. Piastri has endured a 14-race podium drought and struggled to adapt to the sport's new generation of cars after narrowly missing the championship to teammate Lando Norris in 2025.
Despite the setbacks, Brundle noted positive signs, highlighting that Piastri has outqualified Norris in four of the last seven sessions. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella indicated Piastri's struggles are driving-related, while fellow pundit Jenson Button also agreed that the Australian is showing improvement.
