Lyndon Faulkner gives his first interview since being announced as the new WRU chair and says he won't be afraid to make tough decisions either way…

Incoming Welsh Rugby Union chair Lyndon Faulkner stated he is prepared to abandon proposals reducing Wales' professional teams from four to three if evidence shows it harms the sport. Faulkner, who takes over the role at the end of November, asserted in his first major interview that he will not act as a yes-man or merely rubber-stamp existing plans.
Faulkner revealed he will begin reviewing all data and finances on November 2, acknowledging surprise over the WRU's recently reported £18 million loss. While defending the union's prior rescue of Cardiff, he emphasized that he will consider recommendations independently without bowing to public pressure.
