Alex de Minaur has provided a positive update on his fitness ahead of the Vienna Open following a recent injury scare. The Australian tennis star retired during the Beijing final against Novak Djokovic before competing in Shanghai, where he reached the quarterfinals. After taking nearly 12 days off to recover, De Minaur confirmed to Tennis TV that his body needed the break and that he now feels fully prepared to return to action.
De Minaur explained that his focus during the hiatus included rest, rehabilitation, and court time to ensure he can finish the season strongly. The quarterfinal run in Shanghai kept his hopes alive for qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin. He begins his Vienna Open campaign against Czech player Tomas Machac in the opening round.
