Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra criticized his team's effort and shot selection after a 115-110 loss to the Charlotte Hornets resulted in Miami's first 0-3 start since 2007. Despite a 25-4 fourth-quarter run that briefly tied the game, Spoelstra emphasized that the team must consistently sustain its intensity, focus, and discipline for 48 minutes rather than relying on late rescue attempts.
The fourth-quarter comeback featured Davion Mitchell, Bam Adebayo, Pelle Larsson, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Bobby Portis while Giannis Antetokounmpo sat on the bench. Mitchell led Miami with 22 points and 10 assists, while Adebayo added 20 points. However, a crucial four-point play by Charlotte's Grayson Allen helped seal the defeat.
