Andre Drummond was benched and said he didn’t get an explanation.

New York Knicks center Andre Drummond expressed frustration after being benched during Sunday's 111-102 loss to the Orlando Magic at Madison Square Garden. Drummond was pulled midway through the second quarter after jogging back on defense and allowing an open transition layup to Wendell Carter Jr. Following the play, coach Brown removed Drummond for the rest of the game, inserting James Wiseman in his place.
Drummond stated that he received no direct explanation for the benching, while Brown cited poor transition defense as the catalyst for the change. Despite the benching and the Knicks falling to an 0-3 record, Brown confirmed Drummond is expected to remain the primary backup center for Tuesday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons.
