The problem for Kevin Walters is not a lack of star power or individual match winners.
Fox Sports columnist Paul Crawley argues that Australia's 36-22 Rugby League World Cup victory over Fiji masked ongoing cohesion problems for coach Kevin Walters. Despite Tom Trbojevic scoring a hat-trick and James Tedesco setting up four tries, Crawley believes Trbojevic looked uncomfortable defensively on the wing. Crawley also expects Walters to stick with Reece Walsh over Tedesco at fullback for the tournament finals.
Crawley highlights additional selection challenges facing the Kangaroos, noting Sam Walker moved ahead of Tom Dearden at halfback without being fully convincing. While Fiji's Kurt Donoghoe impressed with three try assists, Crawley contends Australia's forward pack struggled for dominance. He suggests only a lack of better alternatives will keep Trbojevic on the right wing moving forward.
