West Brom conceded the first goal for the sixth consecutive time in a league game on Saturday, but they have had longer runs in the past.

West Bromwich Albion have now conceded the opening goal in six consecutive league matches following an early strike by Preston North End defender Andrew Hughes. According to Opta, Albion have previously conceded first in seven successive league games on six separate occasions since the 2010-11 season, with the most recent instance occurring during the 2020-21 campaign.
The Baggies could match that streak when they visit West Ham United at the London Stadium before facing Southampton. Despite falling behind often, West Brom have recovered 11 points from eight games in which they conceded first this season, prompting defender Chris Mepham to praise the squad's resilience.
