Liam Lawson scored yet more points for Racing Bulls, this time in the United States, but his future is still not secure for 2027.

Liam Lawson has stated that his primary goal for the remainder of the 2026 Formula 1 season is to score as many points as possible for Racing Bulls, despite facing an uncertain future on the grid for 2027. The New Zealander secured a ninth-place finish at the United States Grand Prix, marking his 14th points-scoring result of the campaign for the team.
Lawson has contributed 63 of Racing Bulls' 102 points this year, in addition to points scored during a substitute stint at Red Bull for the injured Isack Hadjar. However, the team is evaluating Formula 2 contender Nikola Tsolov for a promotion, potentially leaving Lawson without a drive if teammate Arvid Lindblad retains his seat.
