Liverpool could well move for a young target in order to solve a long-standing problem at right-back…
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola is reportedly an admirer of 18-year-old Benfica right-back Daniel Banjaqui as the club seeks a permanent right-back solution. According to a report from TEAMtalk, the European and Under-17 World Cup champion has emerged as a target who could cost between £30m and £33m to open discussions.
Liverpool currently has Ronald Araujo covering at right-back while on a season-long loan from Barcelona, with Conor Bradley sidelined by injury. However, Banjaqui signed a contract extension through 2031 in April, and Benfica reportedly prefers to keep the defender rather than sell him in the upcoming January window.
