The Comoros international has huge boots to fill - but has now shown his Championship potential for Pompey.

Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho has identified midfielder Iyad Mohamed as the long-term successor to club captain Marlon Pack. The 25-year-old Comoros international has started Pompey's last four Championship matches, helping the team secure three victories and one draw during his emergence into the starting lineup.
Mohamed joined Portsmouth from Portuguese side Casa Pia for a fee reported between €300,000 and €400,000. Mousinho explained that after lacking pre-season preparation, Mohamed gained crucial match fitness representing Comoros during the international break, enabling him to successfully solve the team's long-term midfield succession need.
