The New York Rangers signed veteran journeymen James Reimer and Luke Glendening to one-year, $850,000 deals. We examine how early injuries and depth concerns forced the Blueshirts to rely on experienced tryout additions.

The New York Rangers signed veteran goaltender James Reimer and forward Luke Glendening from tryouts to one-year contracts worth $850,000 each. The moves address early-season depth concerns, with Reimer stepping in while expected backup Joonas Korpisalo recovers from a foot infection.
Reimer, joining his ninth NHL organization, is scheduled to make his Rangers debut against the Los Angeles Kings to ease the workload on Dylan Garand. Meanwhile, 37-year-old Glendening is expected to center New York's fourth line alongside Eeli Tolvanen and Taylor Raddysh.
