Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola provided injury updates on Florian Wirtz, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Victor Munoz ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash against Chelsea. Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Iraola stated he is optimistic Wirtz will be available after suffering an ankle issue against Brighton. However, he noted that availability appears more difficult for Szoboszlai and Munoz.
Iraola confirmed there will definitely be changes to the starting lineup for the Chelsea match following a congested fixture list. The Empire of the Kop notes that Liverpool managed to defeat Brighton on Sunday despite missing several key squad members, including Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, and Conor Bradley.
