The Spanish forward captained Barcelona to a quadruple, including a third Champions League in four years…
Alexia Putellas has won the Women’s Ballon d’Or for a third time during an awards ceremony held on Monday night in London. The 32-year-old forward previously claimed the honor in 2021 and 2022, and her latest victory halts a three-year winning streak by fellow Spanish international and Barcelona teammate Aitana Bonmati.
Putellas, who joined London City Lionesses in the summer, captained Barcelona to a historic quadruple last season, which included their third Champions League title in four years and a seventh consecutive Liga F crown. Across the campaign, she recorded 21 goals and 13 assists in all competitions while also helping Spain win the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
