Manchester United are preparing to trigger a 12-month extension clause in Harry Amass' contract ahead of the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard. The 19-year-old left-back was linked with a permanent exit during the summer, but the club plans to extend his deal to secure his future and retain control over his value.
While United could consider a loan move in January to give Amass regular playing time, existing fitness issues with Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu may force the club to keep him for defensive cover.
