Exploiting an opponent’s weakness is par for the course in sport. Karnataka were expected to do just that against Tripura, but have missed a trick or two.
Karnataka reached 297/7 at stumps on Tuesday against Tripura, taking a 103-run first-innings lead in their Ranji Trophy Group B match at Mysuru's SDNRW Ground. Despite securing the lead, the hosts missed opportunities to build a dominant position, scoring at 3.2 runs per over and losing wickets regularly after letting Tripura off the hook on day one.
Rohan Patil made his maiden first-class half-century with 72 runs, while KV Aneesh scored 68 and Karun Nair added a brisk 63. Tripura's Abhijith Sarkar, Sandip Sarkar, and Parvez Sultan took key wickets to check Karnataka's progress, leaving Aneeshwar Gautam and Manvanth Kumar unbeaten as Karnataka pursues a crucial victory.
