The French electric wheelchair football team secured its third consecutive World Cup title by defeating England 2-1 after extra time in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mohamed Ghelami and Tristan Le Beller scored the decisive goals for France, completing an impressive comeback after an earlier 3-1 defeat to England in the tournament.
The victory makes France the first nation to achieve three consecutive world titles in electric wheelchair football, following previous triumphs in 2017 and 2023. Head coach David Vergé, who led the team through all three championship runs, announced his departure following the historic final.
