Tennis legend Martina Navratilova strongly criticized US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over the politician's vocal support for transgender athletes competing in women's sports. Navratilova responded to the congresswoman's remarks by posting online that Ocasio-Cortez's stance was "just wrong" and questioning how she failed to understand the opposing argument.

Separately, Navratilova also publicly defended tennis players Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina against online criticism following their recent separation.
