Key Things to Know
  • Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are competing to sign Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otavio in January.
  • Cruzeiro rejected a permanent transfer bid of £11 million (€13 million) from Nottingham Forest in the summer.
  • A bid of around £21 million to £25 million could bring Cruzeiro to the negotiating table.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest are reportedly monitoring Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otavio ahead of a potential January move. Both Premier League clubs have recently dispatched scouts to watch the 20-year-old Brazil international, who took over the starting role from veteran Cassio. Nottingham Forest previously had a €13 million (£11 million) bid rejected during the summer transfer window.

Cruzeiro secured Otavio on a new permanent contract in August extending through 2031, which features an €84 million release clause. However, reports suggest the Brazilian club could negotiate a transfer for an offer between €25 million and €30 million (£21 million to £25 million), amid additional interest from Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, and Porto.
