Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos analyzed Barcelona's first La Liga defeat of the season against Real Madrid at Camp Nou. Kroos noted that Barcelona suffered because their pressing failed, which allowed Madrid to control possession effectively. He highlighted that key Barcelona players Pedri and Raphinha looked uncomfortable and made uncharacteristic mistakes under Madrid's intense defensive pressure.
Kroos praised manager Jose Mourinho's tactical plan, stating Madrid were remarkably brave, defended as a unit, and won nearly every duel. He also singled out Dean Huijsen's marking of Fermin Lopez. Despite suffering their first league defeat, manager Hansi Flick's Barcelona team remains three points clear at the top of the table ahead of their upcoming match against Alaves.
