After weeks of chasing deficits, the Cats have ignited their offense. A sudden first-period scoring surge and revitalized power play are finally forcing opponents to play Florida's game.

The Florida Panthers have resolved their early-season scoring struggles after managing only one first-period goal across their first five games. Over their recent five-game stretch, Florida has produced nine first-period goals, including three opening-frame tallies against both the Seattle Kraken and the Winnipeg Jets.
Head coach Paul Maurice and defenseman Seth Jones highlighted the advantages of playing with early leads rather than chasing games. A revitalized power play has driven the turnaround, accounting for five of those nine recent first-period goals as the Panthers prepare for a three-game homestand.
