Chelsea defender Maxence Lacroix suffered a suspected hamstring injury during the first half of the club's EFL Cup match against Liverpool at Anfield. Lacroix went down shortly before halftime and was substituted after limping off the pitch. Levi Colwill entered the match to replace him for the remainder of the fixture.
Talk Chelsea notes that an extended absence could open more starting opportunities for Wesley Fofana and Josh Acheampong, as well as Aaron Anselmino. Additionally, manager Xabi Alonso left Estevao out of the starting lineup, while Joao Pedro was also unavailable for the contest.
