If Thomas Chabot returns on Thursday night, it would put the Sens' blue line at full strength for the first time this season.

The Ottawa Senators placed defenseman Cameron Crotty on waivers on Wednesday afternoon. The roster move strongly suggests that team captain Thomas Chabot is ready to return from an upper-body injury for Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings. Crotty has played in three games for Ottawa this season without recording a point.
Chabot has been sidelined since sustaining an upper-body injury against the Philadelphia Flyers on October 17. If Crotty clears waivers, he is expected to be assigned to the American Hockey League's Belleville Senators. Chabot's potential return would give Ottawa its full top-six defensive corps for the first time this season.
