The San Francisco 49ers acquired defensive lineman DeForest Buckner from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round draft pick. To create roster space for Buckner, the 49ers released cornerback Jack Jones on Wednesday following his seven-game tenure with the franchise.
Jones' departure came after a challenging performance in San Francisco's 29-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Buckner rejoins a 6-1 49ers roster dealing with injuries to key contributors, including Nick Bosa and Mike Evans, ahead of the November 10 trade deadline.
