The Florida Panthers defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 at Canada Life Centre, extending Winnipeg's losing streak to six games. Florida took control early by scoring three goals in less than three minutes during the first period. Winnipeg's only score came from captain Adam Lowry on a shorthanded wraparound goal following a Florida goaltending error.
Winnipeg allowed three power-play goals while failing to convert on their own opportunities. The loss marks the Jets' seventh defeat in their last eight games as they prepare for a four-game road trip. Injured defenseman Josh Morrissey will reportedly travel with the team, though head coach Scott Arniel remains uncertain about his availability.
