Adam Lowry had been reduced to a role as a spectator — or so he thought.

Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry recounted having to hastily put his equipment back on after being sent to the dressing room during a dramatic comeback against the Montreal Canadiens. Lowry had received a fighting major and undressed with Winnipeg trailing 4-0 late in regulation, believing the game was effectively over before the Jets scored four unanswered goals to force overtime.
Prompted by head coach Scott Arniel to return to the bench, Lowry took the ice in three-on-three overtime alongside Gabriel Vilardi and Dylan Samberg. Lowry then set up Samberg's game-winning goal to cap a 5-4 victory, ending the Jets' nine-game losing streak.
