Steph Curry scored 40 points to tie LeBron James for the most 40-point games after age 35, reaching 15 such performances. The milestone occurred during the Golden State Warriors' 119-114 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. Curry added eight rebounds and six assists while going a perfect 16 of 16 from the free-throw line.
Rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg contributed 26 points for Golden State, while the Timberwolves played without star Anthony Edwards due to knee surgery. Head coach Steve Kerr noted the Warriors capitalized on Minnesota's absence as Golden State secured its second consecutive victory following an 0-3 start to the season.
