Key Things to Know
  • Jacob Fowler stopped 46 shots to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 2-0 shutout against the St. Louis Blues.
  • Zachary Bolduc and Florian Xhekaj scored the goals for Montreal in the road victory.
  • Fowler improved to a 6-1-0 record since being promoted from the AHL's Laval Rocket.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Montreal Canadiens rookie goaltender Jacob Fowler delivered a historic performance, stopping all 46 shots in a 2-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues. The 21-year-old netminder secured his second shutout of the season, while Zachary Bolduc and Florian Xhekaj provided the goals for Montreal under head coach Martin St-Louis.

Since his call-up from the Laval Rocket, Fowler has posted a 6-1-0 record with six consecutive victories. With that winning streak, he became only the third goaltender in Canadiens franchise history to record at least six straight wins before turning 22, joining Rogie Vachon and Patrick Roy.
