A disastrous opening frame in New Jersey left Colorado chasing a deficit after a shorthanded breakaway goal and the unsettling sight of defenseman Josh Manson hobbling off.

The Colorado Avalanche bounced back from a previous defeat by scoring four goals in the third period to defeat the New Jersey Devils 5-2. After falling behind to a shorthanded goal from Connor Brown, Colorado leveled the score in the second period via Gabriel Landeskog. Nazem Kadri, Parker Kelly, Nathan MacKinnon, and Jaden Schwartz all scored in the final frame to seal the win.
Connor Brown scored both goals for New Jersey, while Devils goaltender Jake Allen made 36 saves in the loss. Mackenzie Blackwood recorded 15 saves for Colorado, but the victory was dampened by an early injury to defenseman Josh Manson, who left during the first period and did not return.
