Eagles star Saquon Barkley said he was forced to divest his equity stake in Polymarket to comply with NFL rules.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley revealed he was forced to divest his equity stake in prediction-market platform Polymarket. Barkley explained to Front Office Sports that the decision was made to comply with NFL rules prohibiting players from investing in or endorsing gambling and prediction-market companies.
According to an NFLPA spokesperson, the NFL treats prediction markets as gambling entities under its gambling policy. While leagues like the NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS maintain deals with prediction platforms, the NFL has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to clarify state regulatory oversight of sports-event contracts.
