Whether an endorsement of the white-to-red-ball pipeline, or a sign of Josh Inglis' rare talent, his Cape Town ton was a model display of modern Test match batting…

Josh Inglis scored a crucial century in the deciding Test against South Africa at Newlands, guiding Australia to a total of 429. Recalled to replace the absent Steve Smith despite playing minimal first-class cricket over the previous 20 months, Inglis struck 102 to put Australia in position for a series-clinching victory.
The innings made Inglis the first Australian player to record multiple international centuries across all three formats. Having played extensively in T20Is, ODIs, and the IPL while nursing a broken finger, Inglis showed remarkable adaptability to control the tempo of modern Test batting.
