The New York Giants are a fit for a "cheap" trade for a "dominant" veteran who'd solve their biggest problem.

The New York Giants have been identified as a fitting destination for Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Roy Lopez ahead of the NFL trade deadline, according to The Athletic's Daniel Popper. Lopez signed a two-year, $10.5 million contract with Arizona in free agency and carries a modest $1.17 million cap hit for the current season, making him an affordable trade target to address interior run defense.
Heavy's James Dudko argues that general manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh should pursue Lopez to fix a recurring defensive vulnerability. The Giants are surrendering 4.8 yards per carry this season, while Lopez is tied for third in the NFL with 14 run stops.
