NHL Rumours: Ottawa Senators Searching Top-Six Scorer Market

Reports from Bruce Garrioch and Elliotte Friedman indicate that Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios is exploring the trade market for top-six offensive help. Injuries to forwards William Eklund and Warren Foegele have heightened offensive depth concerns, leading to speculation that Chicago Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen could be a potential trade target, though Friedman noted he was told the rumor was not true.

Writer Levi Pike suggests that the Senators could alternatively rely on internal options like Ridly Greig, Shane Pinto, and Dylan Cozens, or potentially look at defensive or goaltending upgrades. Other forward options mentioned include free agent Vladimir Tarasenko, as well as trade candidates from the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
