Matthew Schaefer scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the New York Islanders to a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Schaefer scored twice in the contest, netting his first in the opening frame before clinching the road win on a 2-on-1 rush in the extra period. The result improved the Islanders' regular season record to 7-4-2.
Joel Eriksson Ek opened the scoring for Minnesota early before Bo Horvat and Adam Pelech also scored for New York.
